Letter of Introduction

To whom it may concern,

I am writing this letter to introduce myself to you in regards to my future teaching position. I was born and raised in Simpson, Saskatchewan and attended high school in Watrous, Sasktchewan. I am currently enrolled in my fourth year of my B. Ed. Degree at the University of Regina, majoring in Mathematics and minoring in Music.

I have acquired experiences working with young people through teaching piano lessons, babysitting, and volunteering at Rainbow Youth Center. In 2010 I was provided the opportunity to Assistant Direct a youth musical at Rubarb Productions Summer Theatre Camp, and had a role in Rubarb’s ‘The Sound of Music’ in 2011. Mathematically, I have privately tutored high school students as well as volunteering for the University of Regina’s annual Math Camp and Math Challenge in 2013.

I am interested in helping with senior or junior girls volleyball programs, as well as assisting in any music programs (choral) or musicals. Being involved in and observing the Student Representative Council would be of importance to me if possible as well. During my high school experience I was an active member in all of these areas, excluding musicals, as my school was not provided with them. To make up for my lack of involvement I volunteered at a high school in Regina in preparation for their musical in the fall of 2013. I am confident in saying that I could contribute a great deal to these extra-curricular groups.

Thank you for taking the time to consider me for a teaching position, I look forward to working and learning with you at your school. A few important contributions I will bring to my placement are enthusiasm, a willingness to learn, and a desire to work with you and the students, both in the classroom and in extracurricular activities. I anticipate this opportunity to meet and work with you and the rest of the staff at your school. I am convinced this experience will be worthwhile for the both of us!
